evidence.ninja is here
evidence.ninja can identify, classify and verify climate-related claims using machine learning across hundreds of thousands of messages—virtually instantly. The results are evaluated by a team that analyzes where and by whom climate fallacies are being spread. Ninja is an alliance between human and artificial intelligence. Together, they provide insight into the information environment that was previously impossible.
Evidence.ninja is based on peer-reviewed research (the CARDS methodology) with transparent results and an open methodology. The model has been rigorously tested using a comprehensive taxonomy of claims that deny or downplay the seriousness of climate change, and all methods are open source and verifiable.

What types of climate claims can it analyze?
Evidence.ninja analyzes the full spectrum of climate arguments using a taxonomy consisting of 103 categories. These cover both legitimate scientific arguments and explicit disinformation. Rather than labeling everything as “disinformation,” the model distinguishes between different types of claims.
This new tool leveraging advanced artificial intelligence is being developed through a collaboration between the Association for International Affairs (AMO) and the UK-based company DiscourseLab.ai. Quickly and without excessive talk—this is how evidence.ninja will expose, evaluate, and categorize climate myths present in the Czech media and on social networks.
The tool is grounded in research and development in supervised machine learning published in leading scientific journals. Thanks to advanced optimization, it can process hundreds of thousands of messages. What previously would have cost tens of millions of Czech Crowns and required entire research teams will now be available one click away.
We have already taken a number of steps toward launching Ninja
- We have launched the website and are beginning to populate it with content.
- We have access to the CARDS 2.0 model (Computer-Assisted Recognition of Denial and Skepticism), which we are localizing for the Czech context in cooperation with experts at the University of Exeter.
- We have tested the tool on Czech data and are working to minimize its error rate.
- We have assembled a team of leading Czech and Slovak analysts who validate the model outputs and use the tool to evaluate trends in the Czech information environment.
Release the Ninja
We are now aiming to raise one million CZK.
This will allow us to:
- localize the system for the Czech context;
- connect Ninja to media monitoring tools and additional databases;
- continuously test and validate results;
- develop a user-friendly public interface;
- launch an assistant for assessing the credibility of climate-related claims;
- operate and monitor the Czech information environment for 12 months;
- produce analytical texts focusing on the most frequently circulated myths.
Who will benefit?
Thanks to your support, we will launch a tool that enables anyone to identify myths, falsehoods, and climate disinformation almost instantly. In later phases, it will also offer clear, accessible debunking of myths with references to scientific sources. Ninja will handle the time-consuming work of gathering evidence from trustworthy sources and will immediately deliver a targeted thematic review. This will allow users to form their own well-informed opinions while dramatically decreasing response time
Specifically:
- teachers will receive clear explanations for questionable statements made in the classroom;
- journalists will find verified facts when they encounter disputed claims in debates;
- everyone will gain access to a data-driven resource based on evidence, not impressions;
- if the tool proves successful, it can be trained on additional topics or deployed in other countries.
Over time, Ninja will integrate multiple components. We are starting with media monitoring, followed by analysis of conspiracy websites and potentially social media data. It can also process chain emails or outputs from political parties.
Our goal is to provide you with advanced artificial intelligence tools so that you can form your own qualified, credible, and research-based opinion.
How far Ninja will go now depends primarily on you.
